Stadtmusik is projected as a series of four eps, each presenting four tracks from four different artists.
For a start we present: Köln (Cologne, onitor 46), Buenos Aires
(onitor 47), Toronto (onitor 48) and Stuttgart (onitor 49).
The aim of onitor's Stadtmusik-Serial is to introduce some of the
hottest artists of some of the hottest cities out there.
Cologne and Stuttgart,
the home towns of the two onitor-owners Thomas Venker and Jörg Koch,
are the conceptionell bridge of the project – for sure it was quite
easy
to get in touch with the artists in these cities. With some of the
Buenos Aires and Toronto based onitor artists we have a longgoing
friendship we were able to chose new talents we haven't been working
with so far. Buenos Aires has its own typical sound, a mix of
european-techno-influences and southamerican-tradtitional-flavour.
Toronto is the hometown of the new canadian minimalism. The sound of
Cologne should be familiar to all of you. But onitor is happy to
present some sideways you might have not yet experienced. Stuttgart,
this very relaxed south german town, shows that even space difference
to the big city lights is not the worst thing to live up. In the shadow
of the megacities you find the silence to produce a sound on its own –
and make the city happen on the landmap of electronic music. Stadtmusik – cartography can be so nice.
